Because it appears on the Australian coat of arms and on some of its currency and is used by some of Australia's well known organizations, such as Qantasand the Royal Australian Air Force. The kangaroo is important to both Australian culture and the national image, and consequently there are numerous popular culture references.
Hopefully Stuart can arrange a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park for you to pat, feed and have a picture taken with one. Any other animal you want to have a pictur with?
Kangaroo... for me, is a strong, active, and sometimes aggressive animal that keeps jumping everywhere. People say that this continent is "flooded" with the beasts. They're everywhere, sometimes served as food at restaurants unfortunately.
There are a lot of different types of kangaroos and wallabies. There are a lot of grey kangaroos in the country areas that compete for the grass with sheep and cattle. Farmers don't like them especially during droughts.
By the way, Taiwanese like Kangaroos because of the way they protect their calves. Thus sometimes people think of Kangaroos as a symbol of mother's love and protection.
Yes they are protective of their joeys. A female kangaroo can have two joeys in her pouch. One older joey that is still suckling but being weaned and a second joey that is very small attached to another teat.
The kangaroo is a famous animal in Australia, many people will come there to see them. but it is dangerous, he is easily angry and running velocity is very fast~

ReplyDeleteActually I think koalas are more dangerous in the wild than kangaroos.
DeleteThe kangaroo is taller and stronger than human, so I thinks that he is more dangerous than koalas.
DeleteBut koalas get very aggressive and have VERY sharp claws. They can run very fast as well. Possums can also be meaner than a kangaroo.
